10 Things You Need to Know About Loudwire Live 2018 ft. Seether
Think of this as your Loudwire Live 2018 survival guide. Okay, that might be sensationalizing it a bit. You’ll survive either way, but you’ll definitely be better prepared for what’s in store for you next Friday (August 10th) at the Dort Federal Event Center if you check out this article.
This is an Outdoor Show
If you’ve somehow missed this crucial bit of information until now, you should know that the entire show will take place in the parking lot of the Dort Federal Event Center. Unless you have VIP tickets or win the “Best Seats in the House” from Randy Wise — you’ll likely be standing on pavement for a large portion of the day. Plan accordingly (comfortable shoes, sunblock, etc.). Note: The inside of the Dort Federal Event Center will not be accessible at any time during Loudwire Live.
Cash is King
Cash is always easier to bring in a festival setting, especially an outdoor one. While some vendors will be accepting debit cards and we will have ATMs onsite, it is highly possible that complications may arise and it becomes a “cash only” situation. Trust me — I’ve seen it happen before and it’s never fun being broke at an all day festival. It’s really best to play it safe and hit an ATM BEFORE you reach the festival.
Re-Entry Will Be Allowed for a Fee
We’ve received a lot of questions about this because of our previous involvement in, literally, the only other music festival or concert that I’ve ever seen that allowed re-entry. Yes, we will be allowing re-entry at Loudwire Live, but it will come with a $10 re-entry fee. The extra security, staff, and infrastructure required to properly monitor this sort of thing is not free — so you gotta pay to play. Sorry. If you don’t like it, try to leave and re-enter, literally, any other concert. Go ahead… We’ll wait.
Get the Banana App for Exclusive On-Site Updates
Download the free Banana 101.5 app via the App Store or Google Play for important festival updates. In order to receive said updates, you’ll need to enable your “Loudwire Live” push notifications via the Banana app settings. Note: you may also need to adjust your phone’s notification settings if you’ve previously disabled push notifications. We’ll also be posting pictures and interviews with the bands throughout the day, which will be accessible through our app, website, and social media pages.
What Can I Bring in to the Festival?
Well, that’s a loaded question. We do have a list of items that are not permitted inside of the festival, and some that are, which you can see by clicking here. Please note that some additional items may be barred from the festival and the list is subject to change. But come on, man. It’s only a 9-hour event, give or take. You can survive without your favorite La-Z-Boy recliner and 10 person tent.
Hell yeah, you can tailgate in the parking lot. Some standard tailgating items not permitted into the festival — grills, coolers, tents, chairs, etc. — will be allowed in the parking area for tailgating. However, if security/police see you consuming alcohol or illegal substances — it will be confiscated and you will be subject to any laws violated by said consumption or substance possession. Be smart. The parking lot opens at 9a for tailgating, and the festival gates open at 2p. By the way, parking was included with your ticket cost and there are no additional fees for parking.
Food and Drink
Don’t worry — there will be plenty to eat and drink at Loudwire Live. We have several food vendors on site — USA Concessions, Poco Loco, Roaring 20’s, Squeals on Wheels, YaEatYet?, Yeller Dogs, Wacki Shack, Smokin’ Aces BBQ, Tubby’s and Dort Event Center Concessions – who will be serving up everything from pulled pork, tacos, and bosco sticks to less conventional fare like dessert waffles and gourmet hot dogs. And yes, we’ll have beer and liquor available for purchase.
You can still buy tickets online and at the Dort Federal box office via Ticketmaster. Tickets will also be available at the gate for $49. There will also be one more chance to score $20 tickets and win the “Best Seat in the House” from Randy Wise Ram. Tony will be in the Dort Event Center Parking lot with $20 on Thursday, August 9th from 4-6 pm.
Remember that $4 fee that made everyone angry when you bought your tickets? That covers your parking, so you won’t have to pay anything to park the day of the show.
The number one question we get is “If the concert is in the parking lot, where do I park?” There are plenty of parking spaces available that we aren’t using for the show.
If you are a VIP ticket holder, handicapped, or on a motorcycle, you need to enter the concert area from Averill Rd. That is typically used for VIP parking during Firebird games. If you are coming from Center Road you will turn on Lapeer, drive past the main gate, turn right on Averill, and park in the VIP parking lot.
If you have a general admission ticket or need to buy a ticket day of, enter through the main gate on Lapeer Road and the parking attendants will assist you.
